Established in 1973, Dokkyo Medical University (DMU) encompasses three hospitals, a Graduate School of Medicine, a Graduate School of Nursing, as well as a School of Medicine, a School of Nursing, and a Graduate Program in Midwifery.
For its physical therapy room, Dokkyo staff selected an 8’ X 8’ (2.4m X 2.4m) Luminous SkyCeiling with spring foliage and a clear blue sky. The crisp photography and ethereal sky creates a therapeutic illusion of perceived proximity to a natural exterior, creating a positive association between physical therapy and past experiences of exercising in nature.
