Gazprom Clinic Astrakhan
Gazprom, the world's largest natural gas extractor and Russia's largest company, finished construction of the Gazprom Clinic in Astrakhan in 2008. The modern medical complex includes a 230 bed hospital and outpatient clinic for the historic Russian city near the Caspian Sea.
Client and designer wanted the entry hall to reflect Gazprom's corporate style and, at the same time, convey a concern for visitors' health and comfort. The use of natural objects and references to nature helped achieve this goal.
Sky Factory Luminous SkyCeilings, displaying large expanses of blue sky and white clouds, helped achieve the health goals by providing realistic illusions of skylights that foster relaxation and comfort for visitors, while simultaneously coordinating with the corporate color-scheme.
The Gazprom clinic has been praised by Alexander Zhilkin, Astrakhan Province's regional governor, for providing a state of the art health facility that serves insured citizens as well as Gazprom employees.
