Imamura Hospital, in Kagoshima City, Japan, was founded in 1934 as an obstetrics and gynecology healthcare facility. Since its foundation as a public interest hospital 80 years ago, Imamura has expanded its services to include important specialties including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, and Respiratory Medicine among others.
In collaboration with Central Uni, a leading provider of advanced medical environments, Imamura Hospital, located in the heart of Kagoshima City, installed a Luminous SkyCeiling in their Intensive Care Unit, providing much needed psycho-physiological relief in one of the most stressful interior environments. The daylight-quality artificial light and careful color management of the ultra high-resolution digital photography creates a biophilic illusion of nature™ that triggers an automatic "relaxation response" that is easily accessible to both patients and staff.
