Renown Health Children Hospital
Renown Health is northern Nevada’s healthcare leader and Reno’s only locally owned, not-for-profit health system. Working with leading interior designer, Marie Wikoff, Renown’s kid-friendly facilities were designed to incorporate a visual surprise within their colorful environments.
The Wilbur D. May Pediatric ICU, the Children’s Patient Floor and the Therapeutic Room all share one common element of surprise. When children wonder walk into these spaces they are able to find a portal to blue skies in the shape of Luminous SkyCeilings.
The virtual skylights are designed to alter the way we perceive enclosed interiors by providing a credible and alluring portal to open skies.
