San Carlo di Nancy Hospital
The San Carlo di Nancy Hospital, in Rome, is located a couple of miles away from Vatican City, and was part of the Vatican Health System at the time San Carlo installed this circular Luminous SkyCeiling in their MRI suite.
The hospital is part of the Instituto Dermopatico dell’Immacolata (Immaculate Institute of Dermopathy), which currently belongs to the Lazio Regional Health Service. A hospital with a long history of service, it was designated a General Hospital Area in 1976. With nearly 250 beds, a medical staff of 400, the San Carlo di Nancy Hospital treats 14,000 patients annually in a variety of areas including surgical, orthopedic, pediatric, gynecological, and ophthalmology.
This 6-foot circular Luminous SkyCeiling in the Oncology Department provides an effective means to reduce patient anxiety and stress during treatment, reducing the number of retakes and facilitating the imaging process. The virtual skylight also enhances the working environment by providing a realistic simulation of views to nature that mitigates the stress and fatigue of the department’s staff.
