As the only national university hospital in the Nagano prefecture, Shinshu University Hospital features 700+ patient beds and a medical staff numbering 1,850 who treat an average of 625 in-patients and 1,542 out-patients every day.

Shinshu’s oncology department features five MRI suites. Room Four features the only underwater view of the five MRI suites with a trio of gliding dolphins above the patient bed of a G&E MRI scanner.
