The Solothurn Civic Hospital provides primary health care for the city and extended region of Solothurn, in Switzerland. The Institute of Medical Radiology provides the full spectrum of radiology services including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Oncology.
Sky Factory's designers proposed a rectangular 6' X 8' Luminous SkyCeiling™, to visually open up an otherwise small treatment room, and provide a palpable feeling of vastness to patients with both a realistic window into an overhead sky.
Using Sky Factory's Open Skies Image Technology, the designers are able to deepen an observer's biophilic engagement, allowing the color temperature of light, the vibrant detail of the ultra high resolution digital photography, and the skylight framework around the imagery to trigger a relaxation response and help patients relax during treatment.
