Texas Oncology has installed a number of Sky Factory Illusions of Nature products in their state-wide facilities. In the Austin center, eScape™ Digital Cinema Displays have been installed in the second floor reception area and the small waiting area at the radiation treatment center.
eScape brings the calming properties of nature to otherwise stressful medical settings. The realistic virtual window provides a positive distraction for patients, helps reduce anxiety, and improves the patient experience. eScape delivers nature’s soothing presence – a significant, researched, biophilic benefit for mind and body.
Patients have been effusive in their appreciation for these soothing biophilic installations. Joyce Schauberger, Director of Texas Oncology Austin, commented on Sky Factory eScape, "One of our radiation patients was sitting in front of the eScape and said she felt that hearing and watching it put her in a totally different place where she felt like she was sitting on the beach herself - and my comment back to her was it is working just as we hoped it would for our patients!
