IMSS Guadalajara
Three new linear accelerator (Linac) treatment suites opened at the Specialty Hospital of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Guadalajara, México at the end of 2012. Specialty Electronics Consultants (AEESA), an Elekta authorized distributor, built the Linac suites, including the finishes. AEESA's expertise is evidenced by the appealing clean design. Note the attention the designers paid to the integration of the blue LED ceiling lighting around the SkyCeiling.
It's become customary for AEESA to include Luminous SkyCeilings and Luminous Virtual Windows in their radiotherapy suites as biophilic complements to the crisp interior designs. These beautiful and realistic illusions of nature benefit patients and staff by triggering relaxation responses of comfort and well-being, benefits supported by decades of research. Along with alleviation of stress, the compelling virtual skylight and window images serve as positively engaging elements in the suite that helps to divert patients' attention from the immediate procedures. Noteworthy is the high degree of attention paid to patient comfort that these public hospital installations represent.
