Kirby Residence
The Kirby residence is a 22,000 sq. ft. home in Houston, Texas, originally built in 1986. The recent renovation created a 2,200 sq. ft. addition including a family room that incorporated large Sky Factory Luminous SkyCeilings.
According to interior designer Nabil Majzoub, "The reason we chose Sky Factory's illusions of nature is because the project included a huge, 1,200 sq. ft., family room, the middle of which was dark, and had no windows. The concept was to locate a natural illusion system that would make the area look lit without having intrusive spot lights in the ceiling.
"We got outstanding results using the Sky Factory Luminous SkyCeilings, which make the room look like it has two open skylights with natural daylight coming through them."
