Elko Ingénierie is a construction engineering firm located just outside of Paris, France. In an effort to make the below-grade offices a little brighter and more comfortable, the firm installed several Luminous SkyCeilings. The virtual skylights provide a very realistic presence of overhead sky. Biophilic elements, such as these illusions of real sky, have proven to promote relaxation and comfort.
Due to limited plenum space, the client chose to use the EcoSlim LED Luminous SkyCeiling. With its low profile it requires less than 4" of vertical space for installion. The EcoSlim LED lighting option is also very long-lasting, with an estimated useful life of 80,000 hours, or more. It is virtually maintenance free, and consumes approx. 15% less energy to produce illumination equal to the T5 fluorescent lighting option.
