San Javier Hospital
San Javier Hospital in Guadalajara, Mexico installed Sky Factory Luminous SkyCeilings and Luminous Virtual Windows in their cancer treatment center. The installations open up the space with illusions of sky, clouds and views of wilderness landscapes.
The Luminous SkyCeiling installation features a split-opening configuration which provides installation space for the targeting laser system directly above the patient without piercing the sky image. This configuration actually enhances the illusion of a real skylight by "hiding" a significant portion of the single sky image, which tricks the mind into "seeing" a continuity of sky behind the strip of ceiling above.
