Sentara Williamsburg Hospital, designed by HDR, Inc., is a 139-bed replacement facility designed as an affiliate of the National Planetree Alliance.
Sentara integrates the Planetree Model's guidelines for a comfortable and warm patient-centered environment that allows for solitary and social activities, as well as providing clarity of layout, abundant light, fresh air, acoustical control, and plentiful views to the gardens outside.
The enclosed and shielded Siemens MRI suite incorporates an array of EcoSlim Luminous SkyCeilings™ that dissolve the ceiling into a compelling illusion of an expansive, tree-lined sky. Here, as throughout the facility, art and nature play an essential role in the healing design.,
Sky Factory's research-verified, content-based radiology lighting system is specifically designed to enhance the patient experience and enable staff to increase session take efficiency.
